(Four days a week, covering Ob/Gyn, Abdominal, Breast and other small parts.)
Basics:
Biophysical aspects of ultrasound waves, their properties and propagation in different tissues. Ultrasound image and interpretation. Ultrasound probes and their advantages. General orientation of ultrasound images of various organs.
Uterus:
Preparation of the patient and probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy, Fibroids, intrauterine contraceptive device, Endometrial hyperplasia, Endometrial carcinoma, Nabothian Cysts, Carcinoma of cervix.
Ovaries:
Preparation of the patient and probe handling techniques, Normal anatomy, Graffian follicle and its maturation, Ovarian cysts: benign and malignant, polycystic ovaries, Dermoid cysts of the ovaries, Adnexal masses.
Obstetrics:
Preparation of the patient and probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy in 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester. Foetal biometry, Foetal Biophysical profile and Foetal well-being, Obstetrical Doppler study. Threatened abortion, Missed abortion, Inevitable abortion, Incomplete abortion and retained products of conception, Complete abortion, Competency of cervix Assessment of the amount of amniotic fluid. Placental localization and its maturation, Placenta previa and types, intrauterine growth restriction, Multiple gestations. Congenital anomalies.
Liver:
Preparation of the patient and probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy, fatty liver. Hepatitis, Cirrhosis, Jaundice, and Portal hypertension, Benign space occupying lesions, Abscesses, Cysts, Malignant lesions: primary and secondary.
Gallbladder:
Preparation of the patient and probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy, Edema of the G.B. Wall, Gallstones and their chemical characterization, Acute and chronic cholecystits, Gall bladder sludge, its types and significance, Benign and malignant growths.
Pancreas:
Preparation of the patient and probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy, Acute and chronic pancreatitis, Pancreatic tumors and cysts.
Spleen:
Probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy, Enlargement of spleen and splenic index, Infarction, Benign and malignant lesions, splenic laceration.
Kidney:
Preparation of the patient and probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy, Renal calculi, Hydronephrosis, Renal cortical cysts, Polysystic disease of the kidneys, Benign growth, Renal cell carcinoma.
Ureters, Bladder and Prostate:
Hydroureter, Ureteric calculi, Bladder calculi, Bladder masses, and Prostatic enlargement.
G.I.T and Miscellaneous Topics:
Probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy, Thickening of the bowel wall, paralytic ileus, Tumors of the G.I.T., Aneurysm of aorta, Enlargement of abdominal lymph nodes, Ascites, Subphrenic abscess, Pleural effusion, Pericardial effusion.
Testes:
Probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy, Inflammation, Hydrocoele, Benign and malignant growths.
Breast:
Preparation of the patient and probe handling techniques. Ultrasound of a breast nodule: Benign and malignant.
Thyroid:
Preparation of the patient and probe handling techniques. Normal anatomy, cysts, solid nodules: benign and malignant.
Transvaginal Ultrasound:
Three sessions of Transvaginal ultrasound training will be conducted for Lady Doctors only, after the routine training session.
- Two weeks Color Doppler training (Over 1500 doctors trained):
(Four days a week, covering Ob/Gyn, Renal, Portal and Peripheral Vascular.)
Day 1: Principles and biophysics of Color Doppler ultrasound.
Application of Color Doppler ultrasound in detecting normal anatomical structures and pathologies.
Day 2:
Probe handling techniques in gynae & obs doppler.
Day 3:
Interpretation of obs & gynae doppler.
Day 4:
Doppler ultrasound of portal vein and kidneys (renal arteries) techniques & interpretation.
Day 5:
Carotid artery and vertebral artery ultrasound.
Day 6:
Carotid artery and vertebral artery ultrasound.
Day 7:
Leg vessels; arteries’ and deep veins’ doppler
Day 8:
Great saphenous vein & scrotal doppler.
Day 9:
Revision
